About Kilwinning Sports Club

Kilwinning Sports Club began as a simple dream—a dream of playing football on our own pitch, complete with drainage, floodlights, and dugouts. In 1999, this dream took its first step towards reality when the Scottish Football Association proposed the idea to North Ayrshire Council. From that moment, our vision was set in motion.

In March 2000, a group of sixteen passionate representatives from Kilwinning’s youth and amateur teams came together with one goal: to form a united club that would improve the town’s training and playing facilities. From these humble beginnings, Kilwinning Community Sports Club was born.

Securing a lease for Pennyburn Playing Fields marked a milestone in our journey. We had our own pitches—two full-size football fields and two smaller sevens—but they were far from ideal. Without floodlights or dugouts, and with a pavilion in desperate need of repairs, there was much work to be done.

Fast forward to today, and the transformation is remarkable. Kilwinning Sports Club now boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including immaculate grass football pitches, a floodlit synthetic pitch, an AstroTurf training area, a fitness suite, Tennis and a newly built clubhouse. The grounds are not just a testament to our commitment to sports; they are a symbol of what can be achieved through community spirit and hard work.

Our Mission

At Kilwinning Sports Club, we strive to provide facilities that enhance the quality of life for our community. Our mission is rooted in the belief that everyone should have access to opportunities that promote social inclusion, health, and well-being. We operate and manage the facilities at Pennyburn Playing Fields for the benefit of Kilwinning, fostering sports development, fitness, and a sense of community.

With over 2,000 members, our club is a hub for all ages, providing a space where people can come together to play, train, and thrive. Together, we’ve built Kilwinning’s very own "Field of Dreams"—a place where community and sports meet.
