CLUB UPDATE – August 2020
In mid-July 2020, as part of Phase 3 of the Scottish Government’s relaxation of lockdown measures, member teams were permitted to return to training. After a range of measures were introduced to ensure the Club was ready to re-open, all member teams within our pathway have successfully been training over the past four weeks during the week.
Additionally, from last Saturday (8th August), training slots were available on Saturday mornings. Each of these training slots involve a reduced staff presence to provide toilet access and open and close the Club.
Although we don’t expect league matches to commence until October 2020 at the earliest, and await news on the gym re-opening, we will continue to deploy the Club staff to permit the Club to sustain 2-3 training slots per week for all member teams.
We would like to thank all members who have continued to keep paying their monthly subscriptions and donations. This has been the only real source of regular revenue since mid-March when lockdown began and has been a real lifeline to the Club. It has helped contribute fixed running costs and permitted minimum ground maintenance activities which meant the pitches were ready to go when lockdown measures were relaxed and our teams has sufficient grass areas to train in safely.
We would now ask all members to start paying membership fees again. As the furlough scheme tapers off and our costs start to normalise. We are changing the payment mechanism for monthly fees to be via standing order only, moving to a cashless system. This is to help reduce points of contact for staff and members but also help the efficiency of our banking arrangements. If paying on a cashless basis presents an issue for any member please raise with tour coach or any staff member.
Lastly, and most importantly, we hope all members are keeping well and healthy.
Thanks
Club Trustees
